Job Compass S.A. — Privacy Policy

Job Compass S.A. ("the extension") is a free Chrome extension that helps you search and filter South African job listings. This policy explains what data the extension interacts with and, just as importantly, what it does not do.

What Job Compass S.A. stores

Job Compass S.A. stores the following information locally on your own device, using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API:

• Keywords you've chosen to hide from job listings
• Your current search draft (job title, location, date posted, job type, remote-only preference), so it's not lost between searches
• Whether you've made an optional one-time donation, so the app doesn't ask again

None of this data ever leaves your device, is never transmitted to us, and is never sold or shared with any third party. We do not operate a server that receives this data — there is nothing for us to collect, because it never leaves your browser.

What Job Compass S.A. reads on job-search pages

On Indeed South Africa's (za.indeed.com) job-search pages, Job Compass S.A. reads the visible text of job listings on the page in order to compare it against the keywords you've chosen to hide. This happens entirely inside your own browser. Nothing about the page you're viewing, the jobs shown, or your activity is sent anywhere.

Third-party services Job Compass S.A. connects to

Job Compass S.A. connects to two outside services, each for a single, specific purpose:

• Remotive and RemoteOK — Job Compass S.A. fetches publicly available remote-job listings from these services' own public job feeds, so they can be shown to you inside the extension. This is a one-way request for public job data; no information about you is sent as part of it.
• ExtensionPay — if you choose to make an optional, one-time support donation, that payment is processed by ExtensionPay, a third-party payment service. Job Compass S.A. never sees or stores your payment card details; that information is handled entirely by ExtensionPay. Using Job Compass S.A. does not require making a donation, and every feature works fully for free without one.

What Job Compass S.A. does not do

• It does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information
• It does not track your browsing history
• It does not use analytics, ad trackers, or fingerprinting
• It does not sell or transfer your data to any third party
• It does not use any data for advertising, credit, or lending purposes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
