PageKeeper

PageKeeper ("the extension," "we," "us") lets you save web pages you choose as bookmarks, screenshots, or full single-file HTML archives, stored entirely on your own computer. This policy explains what data the extension handles and, just as importantly, what it does not.

What PageKeeper does with your data

Everything you save stays on your device. PageKeeper does not operate a server, does not collect analytics, and does not transmit any page you save to us or to any third party.

What is stored, and where:

• When you choose to save a page — via the floating button, the popup, the right-click menu, or a keyboard shortcut — the extension stores, in your browser's local database (IndexedDB), whatever combination you've selected of: the page's URL and title, a full single-file HTML copy of the page as it appeared, a screenshot of the visible portion of the page, any notes you typed, and a plain-text extract of the page (used only to power your own search of your own saved items).
• This data is stored only on your device, in your browser's local storage. It is not uploaded anywhere.
• Deleted items move to a local "trash" area for 30 days (so you can undo a mistake) before being permanently removed.
• Your Founder/paid status (a simple yes/no flag), and, if you use PageKeeper on more than one device as a paid user, a small local record of which device is currently the active seat.

Saving is always something you initiate. The floating button is available on pages so you can save something, but nothing is captured, stored, or archived unless you actively click Save (or use a shortcut/menu item) for that specific page.

A note on sensitive pages: because a full-page save can capture anything visible on the page — including an already-open email, a bank balance, or similar — PageKeeper shows a standing reminder in the popup to use discretion on sensitive pages, and a specific warning when the current page has a login form present. Saving is never blocked; this is informational only, and it's your judgment call each time whether to save a page like that. Password field values themselves are never captured.

Third-party services

PageKeeper uses ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) to process one-time payments for the paid ("Founder") tier, which in turn uses Stripe to handle the actual transaction. If you choose to purchase, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive the payment information necessary to process that transaction (such as your email address and payment details) under their own privacy policies: - ExtensionPay: https://extensionpay.com/privacy.txt - Stripe: https://stripe.com/privacy

PageKeeper itself only receives back a simple paid/unpaid status from ExtensionPay — not your payment details.

Permissions this extension uses, and why

• storage / unlimitedStorage — full HTML archives and screenshots can be large; this lets your saved vault grow without an artificial size limit, all stored locally.
• activeTab — to save the page you're currently viewing when you trigger a save.
• scripting — to inject the floating save button and the page-capture logic into the current page.
• contextMenus — to provide the right-click "Save page/link/selection" options.
• tabs — to detect which tab is active and to reopen your vault in a new tab.
• Host access to all sites (<all_urls>) — the floating save button is designed to be available on any page you might want to save, which is the extension's core purpose. No page content is read or stored unless you actively choose to save that page.
• Host access to extensionpay.com — solely to check your paid status and process payments.

Data retention and deletion

Everything you save remains in your browser's local storage until you delete it yourself (immediately, or via the 30-day trash) or remove the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored bookmarks, archives, screenshots, and notes.

Children's privacy

PageKeeper is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. If we ever change what data this extension collects or how it's used in a way that goes beyond what's described here, we will proactively disclose that change to you — not just quietly update this page — before or at the time that change takes effect. Continued use of the extension after a disclosed change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
