Refinasearch ("the extension," "we," "us") is a browser extension that reorders and filters search results on Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo based on settings you choose yourself. This policy explains what data the extension handles and, just as importantly, what it does not.

What Refinasearch does with your data

Everything happens locally, in your own browser. Refinasearch does not operate a server, does not collect analytics, and does not track your browsing.

What is stored, and where:

• Your own settings — which filters, tiles, countries, or domain extensions you've turned on or off, and any personal block/boost rules you've created — are stored using your browser's built-in local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your device and is not visible to us.
• Your Founder/paid status (a simple yes/no flag), refreshed periodically so paid features keep working.

What is never stored or transmitted:

• Your search queries
• The search results you see
• Your browsing history
• Any personally identifiable information about you, beyond what's described below for payment

Third-party services

Refinasearch uses ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) to process one-time payments for the paid ("Founder") tier, which in turn uses Stripe to handle the actual transaction. If you choose to purchase, ExtensionPay and Stripe receive the payment information necessary to process that transaction (such as your email address and payment details) under their own privacy policies: - ExtensionPay: https://extensionpay.com/privacy.txt - Stripe: https://stripe.com/privacy

Refinasearch itself only receives back a simple paid/unpaid status from ExtensionPay — not your payment details.

Permissions this extension uses, and why

• storage — to save your own settings locally on your device, as described above.
• Host access to extensionpay.com — solely to check your paid status and process payments, as described above.
• Content script access on Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo search-result pages — this is how the extension reads and reorders the search results currently on your screen. It does not run on any other websites.

Data retention and deletion

Your settings remain in local browser storage until you remove the extension or clear your browser's extension data yourself. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored settings.

Children's privacy

Refinasearch is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. If we ever change what data this extension collects or how it's used in a way that goes beyond what's described here, we will proactively disclose that change to you — not just quietly update this page — before or at the time that change takes effect. Continued use of the extension after a disclosed change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
